Tatiana Saavedra

Tatiana Saavedra is a Portuguese visual artist whose work practice includes photography covers, cinema, and animation. She has lived and worked in the United States, China, Spain, and Germany before returning to Lisbon, where she currently resides. Tatiana graduated in Cinema, Video, and Multimedia Communication Studies and , her cinematographic career have been recognised with several awards, including the Zon Prize for the film Quadro Branco and multiple honours from the European Cinema and Industry Alliance for the series Under the Light. Tatiana worked as the cinematographer on the series Pés na Terra on RTP, which won Best Episode at the Golden Kuker Sofia, and she directed the series Olá, como te sentes? for the same channel. Her films have been screened at both national and international festivals, including Descanso na Intensidade das Cores, which premiered at DocLisboa.

In the field of photography, her work has been published appeared in publications such as Vogue, Libération, Público, Dodho, and Fisheye. She has participated in internationally in group shows exhibitions, such as ImageNation Paris and has presented solo exhibitions shows, including A paisagem não sabe do silêncio que tecemos and Do corpo nasce o mar, the latter following being exhibited after it won her win of the Open Call Solar dos Zagallos.

In Lisbon, sheTatiana teaches regular courses and workshops at the Instituto Português de Fotografia (IPF) and at the Instituto de Produção Cultural e Imagem (IPCI). She works as a photographer for Canva, contributing to the creation of inclusive content, and she is a member part of the Hans Lucas studio in Paris, collaborating with leading professionals in contemporary visual expression.. Her work, both in cinema and photography, shows a strong existential dimension, and (reflects a constant exploration of the memory of who we are.), consistently exploring the memory of our identity.
