Pedro Rocha

Born in Monserrate in 1982, he is a freelance photojournalist who lives and works in Lisbon. With a degree in architecture, he studied photography at the Portuguese Institute of Photography in Porto and at Black Camera in Bilbao. With a background in photojournalism, he has photographed for national newspapers as well as international agencies such as Agence France-Presse, Associated Press and Reuters, with whom he currently collaborates.

He works as a freelance photographer on documentary projects, focusing on social and territory issues. His most recent project, “Brava”, explores themes of identity and memory, and was awarded at the BF24-Bienal de Fotografia de Vila Franca de Xira in 2024, was a finalist at POY Latam in 2025 and one of the works selected for the shortlist of the Siena International Photo Awards in 2025.
