Marc Schroeder

Marc Schroeder (Luxembourg, 1974) became a photographer in 2009. Mostly self-taught, he prefers to work on long-term projects. His photography blends personal documentation with visual storytelling.

PAlongside an ongoing portrait series Muito Frágil, Marc’s practice has lately veered towards projects where the representation of the human figure itself plays a secondary role. Memory, the impermanence, and vestiges of a human presence, however, have been recurring themes throughout most of his projects.

Marc’s work has been exhibited internationally. His first photo book ORDER 7161 was nominated for the Paris Photo-Aperture First PhotoBook Award and was awarded the Gold Medal of the Deutscher Fotobuchpreis in the Documentary Photography category.
Marc shares his life between his native Luxembourg, Lisbon and Berlin.
